Pink Tarty Long-stalked Rhubarb!

This past weekend I checked on the 12 rhubarb plants in my Dad's garden. There were big luscious leaves with pretty pink and crimson tinted stalks almost ready for their first harvest. Of course, my Mom always has first pick for her much-craved strawberry rhubarb pie, making its annual seasonal debut on the May 2-4 weekend. But once the first pie is baked, it's time to get busy with some other rhubarb recipes. Here are a few of my picks...

Let's Celebrate Spring with Maple Syrup!

On March 20th at 12:57 pm EDT, Spring will officially arrive. Ahhhh Spring! Even though there is still snow on the ground, the hope of spring, warmer weather and more sunshine has me craving some seasonal treats - Maple Syrup! When I was a little girl, Spring meant my birthday was just around the corner and that a visit to the Sugar Bush was on the schedule. Happy Pi(e) Day!

It's March 14th. The third month and fourteenth day: 314, making today the annual celebration commemorating the mathematical constant, pi.

And what's the best part of Pi Day? PIE of course! In honour of Pi(e) Day, let's celebrate by eating pie. Whether it's sweet, unbaked, Paleo or savory, grab a fork (or spoon) and dig in.
